THE WESTIN

In collaboration with Beal Derkenne, we created a distinctive entryway for The Westin Hotel in Tempe. The City of Tempe requires the use of 4×8 clay brick, so we paired Summit Brick clay bricks with Ackerstone 4×8 and 6×12 concrete pavers in a seamless, side-by-side installation. This was no simple task—clay bricks and concrete pavers differ in thickness, demanding precise craftsmanship to achieve a level, cohesive surface. The finished look honors the city’s design mandate while harmonizing with the hotel’s architecture and lobby finishes. The project earned the Southwest Hardscape Association’s Chapter’s Choice Award for best project of the year in 2021.
