Gilbert Water Tower

Permeable pavers were used around the historic water tower paying homage to its past and future importance, capturing water for landscaping and fountains.
Around the historic water tower in Gilbert, permeable pavers were installed to create an open plaza that serves both as a public gathering space and as a stormwater capture zone. The permeable surface helps manage rainfall by allowing runoff infiltration, which is used for adjacent landscaping irrigation. The design pays homage to the tower’s heritage while integrating modern sustainable infrastructure.

6th Street Park

The city wanted to showcase and add character to this very small park surrounded by urban city architecture. A combination of all the pavers and bricks Tempe has used over the years were brought together to create a unique award-winning design.
The design for 6th Street Park referenced Tempe’s historical paver and brick styles, weaving together multiple historical patterns and materials to create a small civic gathering space that honors local urban character. The scheme blends legacy brick forms with contemporary layout motifs, creating visual continuity with surrounding streets. The park’s compact footprint demanded thoughtful transitions between pedestrian paths, seating nodes, and landscaped zones.

30,000 sf of IPE wood pavers were installed on pedestals on the amenity deck. The goal was to keep the area cooler using a combination of wood pavers and pedestals.
The project entailed installing approximately 30,000 sf of IPE (Brazilian Walnut) wood pavers on pedestals across the amenity deck of a luxury residential complex. IPE was selected for its natural aesthetics and thermal comfort compared to hardscape surfaces. This aligns with similar developments in the area like Residences Kierland, a 290-unit luxury apartment community with podium parking and resort-style amenities including pool decks, lounge spaces, and spa areas.

Fountainhead Corporate Park

A remodel that needed a clean and expansive feel. Concrete pavers and large sheets of porcelain were used side-by-side creating spaces for different uses.
This renovation blended large porcelain slabs and more traditional concrete pavers side by side to delineate different use zones (such as lounge, walking paths, and seating areas). The design intention was to evoke a clean, minimal aesthetic while maintaining functional pattern transitions. The porcelain surfaces were chosen for their lower heat absorption and refined look. In the region, ‘Fountainhead’ is also the name of a luxury apartment community in Tempe, though this project appears to be a separate outdoor hardscape scope in Phoenix.

The project involved expanding outdoor seating for a restaurant by installing clay brick paving. The clay brick was selected to align with the restaurant’s interior design aesthetic, offering a tactile, warm contrast to typical concrete or porcelain pavers. The clay material also provides durability in high-traffic hospitality settings and we coordinated with local Arizona clay brick suppliers to match color blends for continuity. Summit Brick, based in Phoenix (formerly Phoenix Brick Yard), is one of the main suppliers of clay structural and face brick in Arizona, and is known for custom blends and architectural selections.

Surprise Oasis Community Pool

In partnership with Willmeng Construction, we enhanced the comfort and appeal of the Surprise Oasis Community Pool with 15,000 square feet of ForeverLawn artificial turf. Installed adjacent to the pool decks, the turf stays cooler than surrounding hardscape, adds a lush green element, and reduces heat island effects. Seams disappeared after infill was applied, and wood nailers were used on all edges—including those against decks, sidewalks, and fencing—to ensure long-term stability. The result is a cooler, softer, and more inviting environment for the community to enjoy.

Partnering with Layton Construction, we installed 30,000 square feet of Wausau Tile pavers across multiple levels of this 29-story multifamily tower. Nearly all pavers—12″x24″x2″ and 18″x36″x3″—were pedestal-set, with Fibergrate supports under cuts near pools on the 8th and 28th floors. The architect’s gradient pattern in three colors tied the design together across ground level, upper terraces, and rooftop amenities. Logistics were challenging, with limited crane time and long waits for traditional elevators, but the project was completed on time, delivering elevated outdoor spaces that match the building’s sleek design.

With TDC Builders, we completed a rooftop and pool deck installation for a luxury student housing project in Tucson. Mirage porcelain pavers in four sizes and colors were set on pedestals over Fibergrate trays. The architect’s design broke from tradition, featuring diagonals of one color cutting through straight runs of another. Our superintendent developed a custom installation method, trained the crew, and executed the complex pattern with precision. The finished look is dynamic and visually striking, earning multiple local and national awards for its craftsmanship and design.
